More Cult

In a perfectly understandably and adorable translation error, Bilingu has taken to using the word "cult" as the adjective for for the word "culture"...the word, in English, we would call "cultured".

i.e. That woman is so cult because she reads so many works of classic literature.

It Wanders I tell You, That Money

In efforts to describe an issue of financial concern in the fine country of Argentina, and as it related to the horrifically plummeting exchange rates, Bilingu was talking about how much people don't want pesos right now. He said:

"There will be a lot of money wandering around!"

Am I Still a Bug?

The other day, Bilingu was really annoying me. He was saying all the wrong things, and in remarkably close succession. I told him so. Or, rather, I reverted to fifth grade and called him a "butt".

An hour later, Bilingu asked if I thought he was still a bug.

Hm.

Dusk vs. Dawn

Remember when we eat dinner at dawn in Punta del Este?

When Bilingu said this, it alerted me to the fact that Bilingu had his dusk and dawn backwards.
Let's review

Dusk = (night)

Dawn = (morning)

The Infants

Today, Bilingu was angry at some of his Bilingu friends. They were dragging him to a dumb movie that starred, according to Bilingu, "Keanu Botox Reeves," and it was not going to be a good time.

I asked Bilingu why his friends had chosen such a movie if it is apparently so bad.

"Because they are infants!" He said.

I then told him that we don't say "infants" in that context in English, since infants can't sit up, or roll over, or really do anything of note.

Bilingu said, "In spanish speaking countries they do more stuff than there. We are very advanced human beings. Is not our fault your limitations."

What does mean?

Bilingu is a good little learner, and he always likes to get things straight. For instance, Bilingu is always asking good questions to improve his vocabulary. He likes to say, confidently:

"What does mean?"

Even This One Bilingu Reads

Today I was chatting online with Bilingu and telling him I needed to update this blog. Then I started complaining that the last time I updated it he hadn't noticed because he hadn't been reading it.

"I read the whole thing," Bilingu typed. "Even the ones with the Prairy house."
